Tweeting now data-free with Virgin SIMs
Virgin Mobile have great news for their SIM Only customers; they can now tweet, retweet and like to their heart’s content without worrying about using up all of their data.
The mobile provider were already the first in the UK to offer data-free use of Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger in their 4G plans.
It means using all of Twitter’s features – other than the Periscope live video add-on – now won’t cost you any of your precious data allowance.
Virgin says 87,000 of its customers use the app every day.
Twitter now claims 328m monthly users worldwide with over 82% of users accessing the app on a smartphone.
This follows Three’s attempt to disrupt the SIM Only market by launching a ‘Go Binge’ SIM which stopped video and audio streaming apps like Netflix, Deezer and Soundcloud from eating into data.
Virgin Mobile continue to offer data rollover which will see any unused mobile data at the end of the month transferred into next month’s data allowance. Customers will receive a text when the data is being rolled over and another text when all the data has been used.
